#LibertyIsRising: Ben Swann Needs Your Help To Bring The rEVOLution To Journalism

Many of you reading this money-bombed for Ron. Many of you money-bombed for Rand. Now the movement you helped create has an opportunity not just to establish a foothold in the media, but to revolutionize media as we know it by helping Ben Swann (yes, that awesome Reality Check guy from Cincinnati) become an established and noteworthy journalist outside of the corporate-funded noise machine using a new economic model: crowd funding: Swann has already raised over $100,000 on his Kickstarter page , but needs your help to reach his goal. What makes this even better than the electoral money bombs you may have contributed to in the past is that your contributions are rewarded with prizes, so the more you give, the more you-- personally, in a direct and tangible way-- get . #LibertyIsRising

Rebel of the Week: The Bartholomew Brothers, who were recently convicted after an anti-tax protest saying TAXES = THEFT

By: Wes Messamore Our hats are off to the Bartholomew Brothers! Talk about rebels. Last year, these gentleman hung a giant banner up on the side of a highway proclaiming in large, bold letters: “TAXES = THEFT.” Not only that, they did it wearing V for Vendetta-style Guy Fawkes masks ( which we are still giving away if anyone is interested )! Then the cops showed up... Read the rest of my article at The Silver Underground . Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Another rape at an Occupy encampment

NBC Connecticut reports : A member of the Occupy New Haven movement was raped in a tent at the Occupy camp late on Monday night or early Tuesday morning, police said. Police said a woman went to find the victim on Tuesday afternoon because she had not seen her. She went to the woman’s tent and called for her, but there was no answer, so she looked inside the tent and found the woman, police said. The victim wasn’t able to respond, police said, so the witness yelled out to other Occupiers to call police and emergency medical services. At some point, the victim told the witness she had been raped in a tent at the camp, police said. Police responded to the camp at 3:25 p.m. The victim was brought to Yale-New Haven Hospital and police charged England Gamble, 53, of New Haven, with first-degree sexual assault and first-degree unlawful restraint. Gamble is on the state sex offender registry for a first-degree sexual assault conviction in 1991. The registry said he was released...

Just Because She's Into Ron Paul Doesn't Mean She's Into You

By: Eric Sharp I have been called to state that which should be obvious and that hopefully most libertarians realize: Just because she's into Ron Paul does not mean that she's into you. That's right I said it. I've been compelled to say so after hearing of a few hopefully isolated incidents in which otherwise respectable men in the liberty movement have been a little creepy and slimeballish, macking a little too hard and not taking a hint. Hopefully you are not one of these people. Maybe you've behaved this way without realizing it and feel pretty bad. If you're part of the liberty movement then I would hope that you are not an unrepentant jerk. But let it be said that if we want our movement to be a vibrant, rich, and diverse one then we will need to be self aware and aware of the actions of others within our movement. We all want to be with someone who shares our values and doesn't think that we are crazy for our political beliefs. It is natur...

Question about phone-banking for Ron Paul

Reader Bill writes: Wes, How do you get the Phone-from-home program to leave a recorded message if you get an answering machine? I have not watched all of your video. Was it in there? If not, tell me the secret. I've just been checking "not available" and moving on. Thanks for the help. Bill I'm glad you asked, Bill. This was actually confusing for me too for some reason, so I called the hot line number at the top of the phone from home program's page when you first log in and I asked them what to do. They explained it perfectly! As you can see in the screen shot at the top of this post, when you hear the phone go to voice mail and begin playing the recorded voice mail greeting, just click the "Voice mail" button highlighted by the red arrow above and then confirm that selection and move on to make your next call. The system will automatically play them a pre-recorded message from Ron Paul asking for their vote. With this system in plac...

Oped: What Happened to the Tea Party?

As a 22-year-old young man in a denim jacket, with long, dark hair down to the middle of my back, and a big sign that said something against the banks, you might have guessed that I was an Occupy Wall Street protester– but this was the summer of 2009 and the Occupy Wall Street protests wouldn’t happen for another couple years. I was protesting at a Tea Party, and I was proud to be there. Before Occupy Wall Street, there was the Tea Party, and we didn’t like big Wall Street banks much either. In fact, the Occupy kids are a little late to the game. At the risk of sounding like a “hipster” I have to admit that I’m a little proud that I was out there protesting Wall Street banks before it was cool, nearly three years before many of my peers. And I’m more than a little amused that their mothers and grandmothers were out there protesting Wall Street with me while they were too doped up on the sugar high from President Obama’s recent inauguration to see the problem. Despite the unfair me...

Veterans to march on White House for Ron Paul

From the facebook event page : Public Event  · By  Nathan Cox  and  Adam Kokesh Monday, February 20, 2012 Time  12:00pm until 3:00pm Washington Monument to White House We, the founders of Veterans for Ron Paul 2012, Nathan Cox and Adam Kokesh, propose a Veterans and Active Duty March for Ron Paul on President’s Day, Monday, February 20th, giving us enough time to plan and promote, and in plenty of time for an impact on Super Tuesday, March 6th. We will apply for a proper permit from the Parks Department and coordinate with appropriate authorities to gather in the vicinity (at the base if possible) of the Washington Monument, have a brief chance for veterans to speak, nothing special, possibly even as little as a soapbox and a bullhorn, but we’ll see. Then, at 1pm, line up in formation on 15th St NW facing North towards Constitution Ave NW, march in formation to the White House, about face, then “present arms” (hold a hand sa...

Anonymous Threatens To Hit CNN With Distributed Denial of Service Attack During CNN Debate Thursday Night

A video uploaded to YouTube by someone claiming to be a member of the online "hacktivist" group Anonymous and a supporter of Ron Paul is threatening a unique Distributed Denial of Service attack on CNN's live stream of its debate that will only operate while Ron Paul's GOP opponents are speaking, but cease during Ron Paul's answers: "In response to the establishment media blackout of Ron Paul, and specifically to the lack of equal time given to him during the debates, we the people will be blacking out the responses of all candidates except Ron Paul in the upcoming CNN debate in Jacksonville, Florida on Thursday January 26th at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time." You can watch the entire video below: Great background music , btw. Unfortunately if this ends up happening at CNN's debate tonight, it won't bring positive press coverage to Ron Paul's campaign. It'll just feed into the media narrative about the extreme, fringe, "kookin...

Conspiracy Keanu Ponders the SOPA Blackout

What if when we black out the Internet to protest SOPA... they pass it because no one's watching! -Conspiracy Keanu Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Rebels of the Week: Wikipedia, Mozilla, Reddit, WordPress, The Daily Paul and every other website participating in the SOPA protest blackout Wednesday... including us!

SOPA and the spectre of censorship: How would you like to open your browser one day to find your favorite websites blocked or censored by an act of the relentlessly growing regulatory regime in Washington? How would you like to find an image like the one above in place of your favorite content or even political commentary? If you haven’t heard about it by now already, SOPA (the “Stop Online Piracy Act”) is a concerted effort by various special interests in Old Media to cope with the rapidly changing world of information and its effects on the distribution and monetization of media, but like many major regulatory reforms pushed by special interest lobbyists, while the key players are fighting over something petty, they are unwittingly working to build the infrastructure for future oppression and tyranny, or as Julian Sanchez of the Cato Institute puts it : the legal and technological architecture for censorship . Julian Sanchez writes at the link above: “SOPA is a 70 pag...

Egypt's Day of Shame

The Daily Mail reports (warning - the original article has many very shocking images of violence against women): The brave women of the Middle East: Female protesters brutally beaten with metal poles as vicious soldiers drag girls through streets by their hair in day of shame After being viciously beaten by a 10-strong mob of Egyptian male soldiers, this woman lies helplessly on the ground as her shirt is ripped from her body and a man kicks her with full force in her exposed chest. Moments earlier she had been struck countless times in the head and body with metal batons, not content with the brutal beating delivered by his fellow soldier, one man stamped on her head repeatedly. She feebly tried to shield her head from the relentless blows with her hands. But she was knocked unconscious in the shameful attack and left lying motionless as the military men mindlessly continued to beat her limp and half-naked body. Before she was set upon by the guards, three men appeared ...

Young Americans for Liberty Launches Affiliated PAC to Endorse Pro-Liberty Candidates in 2012!

Just got this in the mail from Young Americans for Liberty : Mr. Messamore, Today marks a serious step for YAL in a new direction. This morning, I walked over to the post office to mail a very important letter: YAL's application to become a tax deductible non-profit. And later this month, I'll be filing a second important application for YAL to create an affiliated Political Action Committee (PAC), so we can publicly endorse pro-liberty candidates running for office in 2012. So, Mr. Messamore, today I'm emailing you to give a brief explanation of the significant ways these developments will expand YAL's fight for liberty in 2012: * YAL's nonprofit status will allow 75-80% of our activities to be supported with tax-deductible donations, giving you a tax write-off for your contribution * These new divisions within YAL's organization will help me to better allocate funds to expand our educational and civics training programs and hire much-needed new s...
