Legal Marijuana On The Michigan Ballot for 2018

A Michigan ballot initiative to legalize recreational marijuana received enough valid signatures to qualify for a vote in November. When the required number of ballot signatures was certified by the State Board of Canvassers, the 4-0 decision of the board was met by cheers from supporters of the initiative who were present, the Detroit Free Press reports . Rick Thompson, a board member of the Michigan National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML), put this ballot initiative in perspective as a matter of the State of Michigan safeguarding its own sovereignty and protecting its own citizens from an intrusive federal policy: "The people of Michigan deserve this. They earned it. We've faced many trials and tribulations. We've had so many stop and go signs from the federal government. That's why states have to take the reins on the issue and really be the crucibles of democracy that they've always been intended to be." Indeed the last time

Rush -Tom Sawyer

A modern day warrior Mean, mean stride Today's Tom Sawyer Mean, mean pride Though his mind is not for rent Don't put him down as arrogant His reserve, a quiet defense Riding out the day's events The river What you say about his company Is what you say about society Catch the mist, catch the myth Catch the mystery, catch the drift The world is, the world is Love and life are deep Maybe as his skies are wide Today's Tom Sawyer He gets high on you And the space he invades He gets by on you No, his mind is not for rent To any God or government Always hopeful yet discontent He knows changes aren't permanent But change is What you say about his company Is what you say about society Catch the witness, catch the wit Catch the spirit, catch the spit The world is, the world is Love and life are deep Maybe as his eyes are wide Exit the warrior Today's Tom Sawyer He gets high on you And the energy you trade! He gets right on to

William Tyndale

From Wikipedia : William Tyndale (c. 1494 – c. 6 October 1536) was an English scholar who became a leading figure in the Protestant Reformation in the years leading up to his execution. He is well known for his translation of the Bible into English. He was influenced by the work of Desiderius Erasmus, who made the Greek New Testament available in Europe, and by Martin Luther. A number of partial translations had been made from the seventh century onward, but the spread of Wycliffe's Bible in the late 14th century led to the death penalty for anyone found in unlicensed possession of Scripture in English, although translations were available in all other major European languages. Tyndale's translation was the first English Bible to draw directly from Hebrew and Greek texts, the first English translation to use Jehovah as God's name as preferred by English Protestant Reformers, the first English translation to take advantage of the printing press, and first of the new

Donald Trump Does Not Get Credit For This, North Korea Does

Dude I'm seeing libertarians everywhere with at best a very superficial understanding of what's happening in Korea falling all over themselves to give Donald Trump props for what appears to be the imminent end of the Korean War. Are you kidding me? This is like typical political partisans who watch cable news media and read TIME magazine and interpret all of history in terms of who's POTUS. Economy up– "POTUS is doing a great job!" Economy down– "it's the POTUS's fault!" Democrat beats a Republican in a special election in a small Republican state after multiple women accuse him of molesting them? "Americans are already tired of the new Republican POTUS!" Insanity. This is the most idiotic possible way to try to understand any political or historical event. It is for the sheep. For the unquestioning masses who believe that the Matrix of televised electoral and political drama is reality. It is not. The POTUS is a television ch

Word of the Day: Precession

pre·ces·sion - the slow movement of the axis of a spinning body around another axis due to a torque (such as gravitational influence) acting to change the direction of the first axis. It is seen in the circle slowly traced out by the pole of a spinning gyroscope. Origin late 16th century (as a term in astronomy, referring to the precession of the equinoxes): from late Latin praecessio(n-), from praecedere ‘go before’ (see precede). "Abstraction today is no longer that of the map, the double, the mirror or the concept. Simulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being or a substance. It is the generation by models of a real without origin or reality: a hyperreal. The territory no longer precedes the map, nor survives it. Henceforth, it is the map that precedes the territory - PRECESSION OF SIMULACRA - it is the map that engenders the territory and if we were to revive the fable today, it would be the territory whose shreds are slowly rotting across the map. Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits

The music for "Sultans of Swing" was composed by Mark Knopfler on a National Steel guitar in an open tuning, though Knopfler did not think very highly of it at first. As he remembered, "I thought it was dull, but as soon as I bought my first Strat in 1977, the whole thing changed, though the lyrics remained the same. It just came alive as soon as I played it on that ’61 Strat which remained my main guitar for many years and was basically the only thing I played on the first album and the new chord changes just presented themselves and fell into place." 60 Reasons To Legalize Marijuana

1. Liberty - Well a good place to start is so that we can live out our own American values of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness by respecting every individual's liberty to make their own choices about their own body, their own time, and their own money. 2. Conservatism - Conservatives have been complaining about "the nanny state" and "big government run amok" for decades now, so here's a chance to curtail the excesses of government overreach, something very well in line with purported conservative values. 3. Liberalism - Liberals have been vocal supporters of each individual's right to make their own choices about their own bodies for decades now as well, so this is a chance to bring reality in line with rhetoric and let people be responsible for their own bodies. 4. Libertarianism - If you don't like marijuana, just don't use it. That's a lot more simple of a solution than waging an entire war on it. 5. Consistency -

This Is The United States Vol #010 - Barbara Bush Edition

The former First Lady made the following remark on national television shortly before the commencement of the invasion of Iraq: "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It’s not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" Here I fact-checked it for you . It's real: "The comment came about during a Good Morning America interview with the couple who were formerly President and First Lady, George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush. The interview was conducted by Diane Sawyer in Houston scant hours before the couple’s son, President George W. Bush, delivered a televised ultimatum to Saddam Hussein to step down from power and leave Iraq or face U.S.-led military action. The chat with the senior Bushes aired the following morning, 18 March 2003." The fact that she's mortal like every single other one of us who's ever lived doesn't change the fact that those words could have only come from a very ugly mind. This Is Th

DNC Sues Trump for Winning

The DNC must have been high when it filed a lawsuit on April 20th against the "Russian government, the Trump campaign and the WikiLeaks organization alleging a far-reaching conspiracy to disrupt the 2016 campaign and tilt the election to Donald Trump." Well certainly the Trump campaign was part of a very open conspiracy to tilt the election to Donald Trump. That's called an election campaign, amiright? And what are they suing WikiLeaks for? Engaging in journalism? After all this talk from Democrats about Donald Trump's unprecedented hostility toward journalism and a free press? DNC Chairman Tom Perez said in a statement: “During the 2016 presidential campaign, Russia launched an all-out assault on our democracy, and it found a willing and active partner in Donald Trump’s campaign." Okay so if the DNC has any compelling evidence that Trump's campaign conspired with the military of a foreign government to win a U.S. election, why is it filing a

Biggest Scandal Since Watergate!

The mainstream and social media’s relentless appetite for “palace intrigue” stories about Washington bureaucrats and politicians warring with each other is absolute misery for all of us at this point. Stop doing this to us. No one really wants this. Some people are just addicted to it. And I can’t understand why, because it’s just awful. It’s boring. It’s stupid. It’s always clickbait. It just sucks. The mainstream media should definitely take some responsibility for this. Just because people are clicking on your headlines, doesn’t mean it’s good for them. Or for our society. I know Milton Friedman or some heartless conservative economist at one point said corporations have only one responsibility, and that is to deliver profits back to their shareholders, but that seriously is a heartless point of view, so why are these supposedly liberal institutions of journalism heartlessly shaking a penny out of each of us each day by polluting the Internet with this garbage? Since Dona

Liberals Want The U.S. to Regulate Civilian Firepower. Here's What The U.S. Is Packing... That robot salesman makes this unbearably creepy. This is what power looks like. Watch it shoot: "The M1 Abrams is an American third-generation main battle tank named for General Creighton Abrams. Highly mobile, designed for modern armored ground warfare, the M1 is well armed and heavily armored. Notable features include the use of a powerful multifuel turbine engine, the adoption of sophisticated composite armor, and separate ammunition storage in a blow-out compartment for crew safety. Weighing nearly 68 short tons (almost 62 metric tons), it is one of the heaviest main battle tanks in service. The M1 Abrams entered U.S. service in 1980, ultimately replacing the M60 tank. The M1 is the main battle tank of the United States Army and Marine Corps, along with the armies of Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Iraq." [ Source ] If the United States supposedly e
