Pretty Strong Correlation On The Graph Above Between Government Intervention in a Sector and Rising Prices 20 Years Later And All of These Things Fit in Your Pocket! It's Amazing What Free Markets Can Do When Government Gets Out of Their Way!

Liberty Is Still Popular

By: Ron Paul Listening to the media, one would be forgiven for thinking that the "Libertarian Moment" has passed. After all, few candidates are running on a platform of limited government, individual liberty, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. Instead, both parties push expansions of government power, whether nationalized health care, increased surveillance, or tariffs. And for all the partisan invective coming out of D.C., both parties are more than willing to work together to increase spending and debt.

Top 100 Libertarian Movies #002 - Total Recall

This movie was way ahead of its time and very libertarian. You've got future California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (lol at that still all these years later! haha ha ha haha!) playing Douglas Quaid, a construction worker who ends up pursued throughout the movie by "the Agency." Central Intelligence Agency???? 😱 (By the way, Trigger Warning: Rated-R violence ahead...) Looming in the background of the movie is an endless inter planetary military quagmire in a foreign land (Mars) between the government and rebels over buried resources (alien tech). And the movie came out just before the first Iraq War. It came out in 1990 and features a shoot out scene at basically a TSA check point, and Quaid even runs through basically a TSA x-ray body scanner and it detects his gun. And Quaid takes a self driving car with a voice assistant, something that Google does both of today in reality, but was science fiction at the time just as recently as 1990. A...

ObamaCare and Health Insurance: The Worst Scam Ever [NSFW]

Insurance Salesman: "Your employee benefits have just kicked in at your new workplace. Congratulations! Now you can buy ObamaCare-compliant, group-rate negotiated health insurance through your employer." Millennial Worker: "Uh, thanks! Okay, so what's it going to cost me to insure myself, my wife, and one child?" Insurance Salesman: "For a family of three, $600 a month ." Worker: "Phew. Seems a little steep. That's $7,200 a year. That would be my second biggest expense after my house payment. That cuts us down from making $40,500 a year to $33,300 after paying for insurance. I mean that's ridiculous. We've both got student loans too. How do we even save?" Insurance Salesman: "Not so fast- there's a $7,400 annual deductible too." Worker [raises his eyebrows]: "What's that mean?" Insurance Salesman [narrows his eyes]: "Well you have to pay for $7,400 of your own medical co...

Capitalism's Characteristics: Why Capitalism Is Good

When you have the great foresight not to consume every resource you've got, what's left over becomes savings. When you have the great insight to trade your savings for tools that make you more productive, your savings become capital. Why Capitalism Is Good Capital is what makes work a little or a lot easier on you, and the key to getting ahead is spending less on consumption and investing more on capital. Most people consume right up to their limit, and they stay poor or middle class forever. Those who have great success in life are usually those who create more for the rest of the world than they consume. Capitalism's Characteristics Resources find their way into such a person's hand in great amounts because they will grow in that person's care. Most of us are more or less given exactly as much as we can be trusted to be responsible with in this world. For many of us that's just enough not to die or riot each month. For a very few of us th...
