The GOP Goes Tiger

In his most recent video op ed, Jack Hunter argues that Tea Party Republicans' defiant behavior during the debt ceiling debate doesn't represent a flight from sanity for the GOP, but a return to form. Jack Hunter asks: "Who's a Republican?"

When Conservative Political Action Conference director Christopher N. Malagisi accused Ron Paul of belonging to the Democratic Party recently, it became time to reexamine exactly which 2012 Republican presidential candidates truly belong to the party of big government. John McCain Supports Al-Qaeda

The Arizona Senator now expresses his support for America's sworn enemy. Seriously. This is not a parody. This is not an Onion piece. John McCain actually, literally supports Al-Qaeda. Jack Hunter breaks it down in the following video op ed: Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Jack Hunter: "Atlas vs. Avatar"

Jack Hunter explains how the movie adaptation of Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged champions capitalism, denounces corporatism and exposes bias and hypocrisy on both Left and Right. I do have to disagree with Hunter here when he says that Avatar wasn't that great a film, but otherwise, his analysis of the critics' motives is spot on, not to mention his look at corporatism vs. true capitalism. Are any other libertarians getting tired of having to make that clarification? Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Jack Hunter Speech at Nullify Now: The Real Extremists Are in Washington

At the Nullify Now conference in Chattanooga, TN, Jack Hunter gave an excellent speech to explain who the real extremists are (hint: it's not the people in the Tea Party). I had the privilege of introducing Jack thanks to Kurt Wallace (webmaster at LibertyPulse ), who offered me the opportunity to MC the event. "Liberals and Libya" by Jack Hunter

Jack Hunter points out that Obama Democrats now make the same arguments for war as the Bush Republicans they once despised: Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Conservatives who boycott CPAC over gay group are hypocrites

Virtually every conservative leader claims to be for a "big tent" Republican Party. In 2008, Republicans believed that fighting the War on Terror was so paramount that Sen. Joe Lieberman, the 2000 Democratic vice presidential candidate, should be given a prime-time speaking role at their national convention due to his hawkish views. At that time Lieberman and most conservatives agreed on little more than foreign policy. In contrast to Lieberman, that same year and at that same convention, Congressman Ron Paul was not allowed to enter the event despite the fact that most conservatives agreed with the libertarian firebrand on virtually everything except foreign policy. Yet, Paul's presence was forbidden based primarily on his opposition to the war. Read the rest of Jack Hunter's article at the Charleston City Paper . America's Egypt Problem: by Jack Hunter

In his most recent video op ed, Jack Hunter argues that "Egypt's problems have become ours only because we've made them so," and asks if America really wants the rest of the world's problems to be laid at our doorstep, or to be a back page news item while Americans spend more time worrying about their own problems: Filed by: Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Video: Is Ron Paul Weird?

(Nope: neocons and RINOS are.) National Review Online recently described Ron Paul as "unquestionably a little weird." Yet Paul is arguably the least strange figure in the modern conservative movement. Here's why: Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

"National Security?" video by Jack Hunter

In his most recent video "National Security?" Jack Hunter "The Southern Avenger," opines that the term "national security" has been bandied about so much that like the equally overused term "racism," it is losing its meaning altogether. Video: Hope and Change (the channel)

'It’s almost become a stock gripe for talk-radio hosts to disparage folks who aren’t as up on politics as they are. When President Obama was being ushered in two years ago, nationally syndicated talk host Neal Boortz said, “Let me point out the fact that on Tuesday night more Americans were tuned in to watch ‘American Idol’ than watched the inauguration festivities. Hopefully you aren’t surprised.” Actually, I wasn’t surprised one bit. Most Americans simply aren’t into politics to the degree Boortz would prefer. This doesn’t make them bad Americans. It actually makes them quite normal.' Text version at The American Conservative . By: Jack Hunter , a Featured Voice at T H L Read Jack Hunter's columns at: AmConMag | Charleston City Paper

Ron Paul's Pledge to America

"Congressman Ron Paul’s pledge to America is over three decades old and was taken the day he was sworn into office, or as he explained during a 2007 Republican presidential debate: 'Hello, my name is Ron Paul. I am a congressman from Texas serving in my tenth term. I am the champion of the Constitution.'" From The American Conservative . Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Neocons in Retreat

"Like Clinton in the ’90s, Bush in the last decade and Obama in this one, when it comes to foreign policy our government has always posed more of a threat to the American people than any of the near–mythical foes it likes to scare us about."
