I'm not a member of the Libertarian Party. I'm an independent voter. But I am a small "L" libertarian. I think our political institutions are vastly corrupt and tyrannical. I've seen all the ways over the years in which the government in Washington violates its own charter, the U.S. Constitution, and hardly even tries to keep up appearances anymore that it is even trying to follow its own laws. I've seen all the ways in which state and local governments steal money from their states' economies and waste resources. And I've seen how both parties actively participate in this corruption, and how the two main parties are far more alike than they are different, how they are both privileged participants in a system controlled by entrenched special interests, how taken together, their activities closely resemble the one party rule of repressive foreign governments, and how fierce, bitter partisanship disguises this reality behind a loud facade ...

Not only is the United States backing the Saudi monarchy with intelligence and logistical support as it prosecutes a violent proxy war via relentless airstrikes in one of the world's most destitute and war torn countries, stoking and perpetuating the violence there by providing substantial military support to the embattled corrupt Hadi regime as it seemed on its last leg after a very successful Arab Spring uprising of Houthi revolutionaries... The U.S. is also incidentally fighting alongside terrorist groups, including Al Qaeda and ISIS, who also oppose the Houthi movement's ascension to power in an uprising that enjoys the popular support of a broad segment of Yemeni society. Many non-interventionists were perplexed by Senator Rand Paul's last minute support for Donald Trump's Secretary of State pick last week after a month of vocal opposition to the nomination of Mike Pompeo to the most influential White House cabinet position. The former U.S. representative and CIA director's previous support for torturing detainees, extraordinary rendition, regime change in Iran, and continued NSA spying on the American people disqualified him for the cabinet position, Rand Paul argued : "The neocons have been so completely and regularly wrong for decades now that it’s almost unimaginable to believe they would ever be in a position to advise a president again – let alone to wield the kind of power they will have if they lead some of our nation’s most powerful institutions." First of all, let's get this out of the way first. What was wrong with what Trump said? All the news headlines are clipping off the statement to make it sound dismissive and insensitive: "He knew what he signed up for." Well this is deceptive editing, because what he said was : "He knew what he signed up for... but when it happens, it hurts anyway." If you idiots keep doing this shit, you're going to get Trump reelected in a landslide. This is why so many conservatives love Trump for slamming the media all the time.
