This Is The United States Vol #006 - Federal Air Marshal Snafu

From USA Today on August 7, 2014 - On Nov. 1, 2013, when TSA Officer Gerardo Hernandez was shot by a lone gunmen at Los Angeles International Airport and lay bleeding on the ground for more than half an hour and later died, Biles says that "a team of FAMs [federal air marshals] was less than 100 yards from the shooter yet failed to respond or engage the threat." Despite the fact that air marshals typically carry a Sig Sauer P229 and have high shooting skills, trained as they are to fire in the close confines of an aircraft cabin, Biles claims their inaction was "mostly due to a mentality and unwritten policy that exists at the FAMS by upper management that tells air marshals not to get involved." This Is The United States Vol #005 - Supreme Court: Police Have No Duty to Protect Anyone

Did you know the United States' highest court has ruled that police have no obligation to protect anyone?

Stupid Democracy, Stupid Media, and Stupid Police

Eric Boehm at Reason: Doug Jones, Roy Moore, and the Politics of the Lesser Evil "The politics of the lesser evil are very much in vogue right now—though not usually in terms as stark as what we just witnessed in Alabama—because neither major party has much in the way of a compelling vision to win support. Demonizing the other side and hardening tribal lines over issues of race, class, and social policy is, if not the only way to win in that environment, then certainly the easiest. This 'negative partisanship' has infected all parts of the political dynamic, and it's getting worse. But winning elections isn't supposed to be the goal of politics. Creating policy is. And the politics of the lesser evil are not good for the creation of policy, because whoever wins gains power and therefore quickly becomes the greater evil." Jeffrey Tucker at FEE: This Bloodsport Needs to End "The left is getting nuttier, the hard right is getting scarier, and the...

Why The Cops Won't Help You When You're Getting Stabbed [Video]

The Supreme Court has actually ruled that it is literally not the police's obligation to protect people from violent criminals. The video you're watching above is a true story. Here's the Wiki article on it .

We Need Leadership: 7 NYPD Crisis Negotiations Techniques That Trump Should Use with North Korea

As tensions between the U.S. and North Korea rise, Donald Trump could show some real and effective leadership by consulting with some of his home city’s finest and most talented police officers: the NYPD Crisis Negotiations Team. By employing their professional negotiation techniques, used to neutralize volatile situations with hostage takers, people trying to commit suicide, and other people who pose an immediate danger to themselves and others, Donald Trump could go down in history as a brilliant negotiator and a good president that made the world a safer place to live... Please read the rest of my article which has been graciously published at The Jack News . And someone tweet this at the POTUS. Let's see if we can't save the world from a nuclear war with some New York know-how.

This is seriously how it works. Anybody object?

Comment of the Week: Putting Things In Context

Just had to share this comment here in case you didn't see it. First, here's the comment it's in response to: Anon - The police had every right to shoot the dog. The dog was going to ATTACK an officer. The police had to do what they needed to do to protect themselves. They are entitled to defend themselves from harm. you say it's animal cruelty but they are just doing their jobs. You clearly don't know the definition of animal cruelty if instantly killing an animal is so "cruel." Have you seen how lions hunt their prey? They eat them alive. And you guys talk about animal cruelty as if you know what it is. And the comment of the week: Anon 2 - Except for one thing. The Police Officer was the aggressor (assuming that this is a simple case of the police arresting somebody for filming them), filming the Police is not a crime. The kidnapper had every right to shoot the dog. The dog was going to ATTACK an kidnapper. The kidnapper had to do what they nee...

Photos of Police Being Bullies

I made another Pinterest board this week entitled " Police Being Bullies ." I made this to support the Peaceful Streets Project , which is having its 2013 yearly summit this weekend.

PSA: If You See Something, *Do* Something

Like these folks. This is terrific:

"It Wasn't Rape. Look What They Were Wearing!"

No, not the victims, the rapists. Let's back up a second: "We're going to get familiar with your womanly parts." That's what Brandy Hamilton says Nathaniel Turner, a male police officer told her last year during a traffic stop when she and her friend were driving home from the beach. The officer found a small amount of marijuana in their car after stopping them for speeding and made them wait on the side of the road in their bikinis, without allowing them to put on their clothes, so Jennie Bui, a female officer could show up and perform a roadside cavity search. The traffic stop and the vaginal search were caught on the police cruiser's cameras. "She pretty much forced my legs open because I wouldn't even open my legs," Hamilton said. Her friend, Alexandria Ramble told her local news station, KXAN, "We were just assaulted in the worst way possible. We weren't asked could we be touched. It was just done to us. I'm just emba...

The Police Raped These Two Women

Two Brazoria County, TX women were pulled over for speeding. The cop did not give the women, who were in bikinis, a chance to put some clothes on before making them wait on the side of the highway for a female cop to show up and give them a body cavity search in the police cruiser on the side of the highway- because a small amount of marijuana was found in the car. CA Police Shoot Dog For Defending His Owner As They Arrest Him *For Filming Them*

Warning: this video is *extremely* graphic and disturbing. Hawthorne, CA Police Officer Shoots Dog: InfoWars reports : "The 130-pound, 3-year-old Rottweiler named Max was shot to death after he escaped through a window in a parked car and ran over to his master, Leon Rosby, who was being arrested for filming the scene on his phone." Hat tip: Daily Paul . The comments on the YouTube page were overwhelmingly critical of the police overreaction. Here are some examples: for the last time since so many dummies seem to exist here: ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS TELL THE OWNER TO TAKE CARE OF IT. he wasn't resisting, he would have wanted his dog safe, so all they could have done is stopped cuffing him for 15 seconds, let him secure his dog and calm it down... and then they could have continued their pointless arrest. easy. nobody hurt. isn't that the logical normal thing to do if a dog is "threatening" you? to tell it's owner to take care of it? I hope...

WA Judge Orders Police to Return Confiscated Marijuana to Its Owner :-D

Oh yeah. You read that headline right. Bet you never thought you'd read a headline like that. Judge tells the police to give a man his weed back: Joseph L. Robertson's Marijuana Will Be Returned By Cops Who Seized It, Judge Orders TACOMA, Wash. -- Police in Tacoma could soon be in real trouble over pot. The department could be found in contempt if they continue to refuse to return a small amount of marijuana seized from a man after a traffic stop. Municipal Court Judge Jack Emery repeated an order to police Thursday to return the drug to Joseph L. Robertson within seven days or they could be found in contempt. "Appeal or comply," Emery told assistant city attorney John Walker. "Or next week, show up, and I would advise you to bring counsel." The judge first ordered police to return the drug on Feb. 28, but they have refused, The News Tribune reported Friday (http://bit.ly/10hwiD9). It was seized in May of last year when an officer pulled over...

CA Police Take Baby Because Mom Wanted Second Medical Opinion! (Video) UPDATED: Court Rules in Favor of The Power Structure

"I'm going to grab your baby, and don't resist, and don't fight me, okay?" Imagine a mother hearing these words from an armed stranger. How would you react? This is your government. Look at it: Part I: Part II: Via: MoxNews . Fist bump: reader, Heath. And now, your moment of Zen: Text Summary of news segment: SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento family was torn apart after a 5-month-old baby boy was taken from his parents following a visit to the doctor. The young couple thought their problems were behind them after their son had a scare at the hospital, but once they got home their problems got even worse. It all began nearly two weeks ago, when Anna Nikolayev and her husband Alex took their 5-month-old boy Sammy to Sutter Memorial Hospital to be treated for flu symptoms, but they didn't like the care Sammy was getting. UPDATE: Couple still unclear why CPS took their baby For example, one day Anna asked why a nurse was giving her so...

Anthony Gregory: Boston Police Overreacted, Not Libertarians

" If two criminals can bring an entire city to its knees like this with the help of the state, then terrorism truly is a winning strategy." -Anthony Gregory On his Facebook Wall, Gregory made the above statement in a lengthy and absolutely spot-on analysis of the police response to the Boston Marathon bombing. Over at The Independent Institute, he shared his concerns in greater depth in " What Is The Threshold for Martial Law? " Yesterday, Students for Liberty's blog carried a guest submission critical of Gregory's perspective on the issue entitled, " Civil Libertarians Overreact to Boston Police ." Highlights from the critique: 'Civil libertarians need to avoid the knee jerk reaction to police action. They should see it as their obligation to make sure society does not forget individual liberty in times of crisis, but looking critically at police action is not the same thing as looking constructively at police action. ... Wha...

The State Seriously Hates Cameras

Orwell was so very astute in his understanding of the total state, yet the most visible mechanism of state control in 1984 , cameras everywhere, has turned out in the 21st century to be one of the most useful checks against state control. Observe this video from Adam Kokesh , posted to YouTube yesterday: Best part (2:05): "They're filming on the sidewalk. And they're filming on the sidewalk. And that guy's filming on the sidewalk. And that guy's filming on the sidewalk." The police don't want Kokesh to film on the sidewalk because it's part of a "commercial operation" and requires a license from the National Park Service. The quotation above and its concurrent video footage show how antiquated the government's understanding of cameras and information is. People are all over the sidewalk filming with their digital cameras and smartphones. The problem with Kokesh's camera then, is that it's too big and nice. Pretty soon, ...

Arrested If You Do, Mauled By a Bear If You Don't: Man Faces Charges for Defending Himself From a Bear in His Own Yard

From Reason : Man Faces Charges After Defending Himself from a Bear in His Own Yard Richard Ahlstrand, of Auburn, Massachusetts, faces criminal charges after encountering a bear in his back yard and shooting the damned thing to avoid being mauled or eaten. Specifically, as noted at Reason 24/7, he's charged with "illegally killing a bear, illegally baiting a bear, illegal possession of a firearm and failure to secure a firearm." All of these charges, once translated from Massachusetts to American, seem to stack up to outrage that Ahlstrand didn't make his yard completely inhospitable to animals that are rarely seen in the area, and then investigated a suspicious noise with a weapon in hand rather than cower under the bed. Worst of all, he actually defended himself when he encountered danger. According to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, Ahlstrand had a 50-gallon drum of birdseed in his backyard, and this appears to be the basis of the "baiting"cha...

Does the TLC Audience Seriously Sympathize With The Cop In This Video?

Reddit frontpaged this video (posted in Feb 2011 to YouTube) today: "If they don't got no warrant, don't open the door." The guy in the red jacket was smart as hell. He knew his rights and refused to be intimidated. His poor friend was scared, confused, and clearly unsure of his rights. Let's call them Gallant and Goofus. The goon lies to Goofus and tells him that if he doesn't open the door, she'll charge him with "obstruction." (Police are legally allowed to lie to you. Conclusion: Don't trust police.) She then actually puts him in cuffs for exercising his Constitutional right not to submit to a search of his house without a warrant signed by a judge. Cops everywhere are fighting our right to film them breaking the law, but these cops brought their own camera crew! Then the goon tells Gallant, "You need to keep your mouth shut or you're going to get cuffs on you too." Exercise your 4th Amendment right-- get cuffed....

California Seizes Guns of Residents Involuntarily Committed to Mental Hospitals!

"Earth, you don't have to be crazy to live here, but it helps." I warned of this in January! 'Don't get the government involved in mental health either. Don't encourage policymakers to try to fix mental health problems. They're not going to be able to. Their track record of solving problems isn't exactly exemplary, and their record of making problems worse is well, pretty impressive to say the least. What takes the cake, however, is their record of taking some problem, real or imagined, and to see it everywhere, to artificially expand its scope to epic proportions, and thereby expand the scope of their prerogatives to solve it. You want policymakers to find solutions to mental health problems? Well that means, to begin with, that you want them to define mental health problems. Who says they'll have the right definition? Who says the definition won't expand? Who says they don't already think you have a mental health probl...

Rebel of the Week: The Bartholomew Brothers, who were recently convicted after an anti-tax protest saying TAXES = THEFT

By: Wes Messamore Our hats are off to the Bartholomew Brothers! Talk about rebels. Last year, these gentleman hung a giant banner up on the side of a highway proclaiming in large, bold letters: “TAXES = THEFT.” Not only that, they did it wearing V for Vendetta-style Guy Fawkes masks ( which we are still giving away if anyone is interested )! Then the cops showed up... Read the rest of my article at The Silver Underground . Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page
