My Thoughts On The Florida Woman Who Filmed Herself Berating Dunkin Donuts Workers

This has been making its rounds for the past couple days. In a nutshell: This woman came in and hysterically berated the workers over a forgotten receipt. It's just awful to watch. I'm not even going to embed the video, but you can watch it if you'd like by following the link. Warning: You'll feel a deep, burning shame as you watch.

Here's the thought I shared with a friend on this:

No one really cares that much about a receipt. She's clearly got deep anger issues. I'd bet money they have something to do with her parents. My sense is that these kinds of displays speak volumes about how people behaved in the home during a person's childhood. Parents, your boorishness towards your children is unleashing a bunch of angry, petty, depressed, and desperate people on the rest of the world. Stop it. Please just stop it. (I'd give ten to one odds she was spanked, put down, and bullied in the home as a child.)

This bill isn't working so well because overseas banks are not cooperating (a state of affairs that was certainly expected). Thus, there is a need for something else: Senate Bill 1813, recently introduced by Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA). This bill, in part, states that taxpayers with unpaid taxes over US$50,000 may find their passports confiscated. This isn't criminal per se, but the IRS has recently made noises about "sharing" information with police a...
