Libertarian Party Stickers Only 10 Cents Each!

This just in from the Libertarian Party:

Dear Friend of Liberty,

I'm about to offer you a fantastic deal.

For one week only, you can get Libertarian bumper stickers like the one below: up to 10 stickers per dollar you donate! (Minimum $10 donation required.) This offer expires on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time.

On Monday, I wrote how some marketing experts estimate putting a bumper sticker on your car can be worth over $200 in advertising.

I'm ordering some bumper stickers for Headquarters use, and since I'm ordering in bulk, I hope to add thousands more to this order and get them into your hands ASAP!

I want to send piles of inexpensive stickers to activists like you to give away at your state and local meetings. I've also found that people enjoy getting free stickers at rallies and protests. Just walk around and ask people if they'd like a free Libertarian sticker. If they take one, you can ask them if they'd like to get on your mailing list, or encourage them to join the Libertarian Party at www.LP.org, just like it says right there on the sticker.

Again, you can get up to 10 stickers per dollar you donate, but you don't have to ask for that many. I hope many of you will order less (or donate extra), so we can use the extra money to help cover the cost of packing and shipping all these stickers around the country.

So, if you donate $200, you can get up to 2,000 stickers, but you may actually want fewer, such as only 100 stickers (or even just 1 sticker). Please type "stickers" and specify the quantity you want in the Comment box at the bottom of the membership or contribution page. If you don't clearly specify a quantity, I'll only ship one sticker per dollar. Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery. If you don't type "stickers" or clearly indicate that you want stickers, then I won't ship any stickers.

Also put your shipping address in the Comment box if it's different from the address you entered above.

Example 1:

Comment (optional):
stickers 100

Example 2:

Comment (optional):
stickers 250
ship to:
100 Main St
Los Angeles, CA 90101

Thanks for helping to advertise the Libertarian Party by donating and getting up to 10 stickers per dollar. (Minimum $10 donation required.)

Don't delay! Donate and order your stickers today!

Sincerely,

Wes Benedict

My 2011 Trip

Hey Patriots! Hope your New Year is off to a good start! I am multitasking my head off to prepare for a trip around the country of indefinite length and scope starting next week. I'll be headed for Colorado first where I'll investigate medical cannabis laws and their effects; then I'll be flying out to Washington DC for the month of February to attend CPAC and ISFLC; and after that I'll move north to New Hampshire to spend March hanging with members of the Free State Project and learning more about it. I'm not positive what's next after that, but I've got a general inkling, and it might involve venturing overseas to learn a little more about the broader world around us and relay everything I see to you readers here at The Humble Libertarian ! Wish me luck and keep your eye out for updates as I travel. Peace, Wes Wes Messamore , Editor in Chief, T H L Articles | Author's Page

Occupy Mordor or Destroy the Ring?

There has been mixed responses to Occupy Wall Street by libertarians. Some see the movement as a positive, while others see them as little more than lazy hipsters. But libertarians must be sensitive to why people feel the way they do about issues. The occupiers point out a legitimate concern that "the 1%" control vastly more power and wealth than "the 99%", and corporations have accumulated more power and privilege than is healthy for an open society. Some other concerns and demands are absurd, but the heart of the matter is on track. The question is why has this happened? While many on the left are quick to blame a nebulous thing called "greed", or lack of regulation, the matter is more complicated than that. This calls for a Lord of the Rings metaphor. Let's say that Sauron, the big cheese bad guy of Lord of the Rings, is the corporate hegemony. The 1%. Most people in Middle Earth agree that this is a problem, but there are a few differ...
